Ivo Heerings Bio -
In the 90s Ivo discovered the passion for music. He played in various discotheques and had a small hit single of his own back then. Today living in the Netherlands, Ivo continues to share his passion for music with the world as a member of The Synthwave Brothers and DJing at live events. Ivo’s Motto - “Let's have a good time together. Life is too short to be sour.”
Marcellus O’Connor Bio -
Marcellus started learning to play piano at the age of 5 and percussion/drum set at the age of 10 at a local music school in California during the early 90s. He grew up listening to electronic music at local indie record stores in the California Silicon Valley area, and always had a passion to share my music with others. Now Marcellus has that opportunity as a member of The Synthwave Brothers to produce music that will speak to listeners around the world. Marcellus’s Motto - “Why not us? We can make it happen!”
The Synthwave Brothers story -
The Synthwave Brothers came to be when Marcellus O’Connor started a playlist group in early 2025 made up of over 70 independent musicians from around the world. After 4 months of running the playlist group, Marcellus started thinking about closing the playlist group and to no longer share his music altogether because it was not getting the results that he had hoped. Then all of the sudden someone in the playlist group invited Ivo Heerings to join the group, and Ivo discovered a couple of songs that Marcellus produced that really impressed him.
As soon Ivo joined the playlist group, he started communicating with Marcellus and sharing music that he produces under the name DJ Aquana. Marcellus was in awe of the quality and incredible music/lyrics that Ivo was producing. Furthermore, Marcellus was shocked that Ivo was interested in collaborating on a song, knowing Ivo is a rising star musician in the Netherlands and has a hit song called “Open My Eyes” that was #1 for several weeks on his local city radio station and played on the national music radio station a couple times as well.
Ivo and Marcellus ended up collaborating on a song called “Tech Dream Scape” and everything went extremely well that maybe this could be the beginning of a new music band. Ivo borrowed one of Marcellus’s synthwave piano style songs and added his music style to it. The end results were beyond amazing and Marcellus and Ivo knew that this was the beginning of an epic sound that needs to be heard. Ivo and Marcellus then decided to form the music group The Synthwave Brothers.
The Synthwave Brothers are focused on smooth synthwave piano melodies and hypnotic drum beats with deep emotional lyrics for the listeners to connect with the music. Marcellus plays the piano using a variety of synthwave filters and uses the piano keys to produce the drum beats to songs. Marcellus’s DAW of choice is Apple’s GarbageBand where he puts everything together for the instrumentals. Once he completes the baseline instrumentals, he then sends them over to Ivo to add his magic to the songs. Ivo listens to the instrumentals for inspiration to writes the lyrics.
Ivo then sings the vocals and uses AI vocal modulation software to his voice to ensure that he can perfectly match the instrumentals/music notes. Ivo uses Moises Studio, Audition, FL Studio, and Ableton for his music production work. Once everything is finished, Ivo takes the music to his local music studio in the Netherlands to perform sound mastering on the songs. All of this music production work is successfully done by both musicians coming together to create synthwave masterpieces, even with the challenges of Ivo living in the Netherlands with a 6 hour difference from Marcellus in the United States.
The Music -
The Synthwave Brothers first song was released at the end of September 2025 called “Neon Shadows,” which is available on major streaming platforms. After the release of “Neon Shadows,” The Synthwave Brothers will release a mega hit song called “Only Love Remains”, which is releasing October 30th and already has 500 plus shares on instagram. Two more songs in collaboration with Jenna Lawrence and Lady Jay will be released in November and December. The remaining songs are estimated to be released in physical form via CD and vinyl in March/April 2026 on a 13 track album called “Only Love Remains” via https://elasticstage.com/httpswwwinstagramcomthesynthwave.
In early September, The Sythwave Brothers joined the record label Bad Bot Records LLC (@bad.bot.records and www.badbotrecordsllc.com) based out the United States and are super pumped to release their first album with the label.
